The Virginia Council on the Educational Opportunity for Military Children voted on October 1, 2025, to approve Queens Lake Middle School as a recipient of the 2025-2026 Purple Star 2nd Award along with the 2nd Award Purple Star challenge coin. This coin is our nod to the military community that is known for the practice of bestowing unit coins to those who have contributed to the mission.
