School Improvement Plan
2024-25
Goal 1
By June 2025, QLMS will increase grade-level reading and writing skills through integrating literacy and scaffolded instruction and culturally responsive practices to support comprehension of content-area text in all middle school classes. Gains will be made in:
- Science - Economically Dis (+ 18%), Black (+23%), SWD (+ 39%), EL (+24%)
- Reading - SWD (+ 14%)
- Math - SWD (+ 3%); Math 6 overall pass rate (+3%)
Goal 2
By June of 2025, staff will collaborate during weekly PLC meetings to plan instruction for SWD in mind, progress monitor, and analyze data to consistently spiral in information that is not mastered throughout the year. Highly engaging lessons will be designed by PLC’s to include movement, chunking of lessons, SDI (as appropriate), and critical thinking skills to challenge students with real-world learning experiences. This will be measured by:
- 75% of PLC meetings will have a data focus and address specific plans for how PLC teams will target SWD and students that did not master the stated skill.
- Admin will provide feedback, bi-weekly, to the following PLC groups: FOA 6, English 7, and Science 8
Goal 3
By June of 2025, QLMS will reduce chronic absenteeism for economically disadvantaged students by 7% and remain at “Level One” overall by having 12% or less students federally identified as chronically absent from school. Character education opportunities will be incorporated into current PBIS practices beginning in the 24-25 school year to address social-skills, executive functioning, and emotional regulation concerns.
